Changeover Day at Amigos – A Team Effort

Every Saturday is Changeover Day at Amigos, a vital day for ensuring the camp is refreshed, spotless, and welcoming for our incoming guests. This is a team-wide initiative where everyone plays an important role.

Saying Goodbye with Warmth

Our Saturday begins with heartfelt farewells to departing guests, ensuring their last moments at Amigos are just as memorable as their stay.

🧹 The Deep Clean Mission – All Hands on Deck

At around 10:00 AM, after check-out, the entire Amigos team comes together for a focused deep cleaning session for 1-2 hours. This is a mandatory task for all team members, regardless of department. Here's what we’ll tackle together:

  • Stripping old bedding and preparing fresh linens.
  • Sweeping and tidying guest tents to make them welcoming.
  • Cleaning and refreshing all shared spaces (kitchen, bathrooms, lounge areas and Surf).
  • Ensuring every corner of the camp is spotless and inviting.

This collaborative effort continues until all tasks are completed, with the aim of presenting our best to the arriving guests.

🍽️ Dish Duty – A Daily Team Responsibility

Throughout the week, we also practice teamwork at mealtimes. Each team member contributes 15 minutes to dishwashing after breakfast and dinner. Since our camp operates with a temporary kitchen setup and no industrial dishwasher, this small effort makes a big difference in keeping our space functional and clean.

By working together, we ensure that Amigos remains a welcoming and enjoyable environment for both our guests and our team. Let's make every Saturday count with team spirit, cooperation, and dedication!

Benefits:

This position comes with a range of benefits designed to make your experience with us both enjoyable and fulfilling.

  • Accommodation: Embrace surf camp life inside a shared Quechua tent in the staff camping zone. Your accommodation includes a proper mattress, bedframe, pillow, blanket, towel and bedding, along with access to electricity.
  • Meals: Enjoy homemade breakfast, lunch, and a delicious 3-course dinner every single day, prepared by our talented kitchen team. (Wednesday dinner isn’t 3-course but it is provided for staff)
  • Surf Gear: Take advantage of our top of the range surfboards and wetsuits, available for your personal use, allowing you to fully embrace the surfing experience at Oyambre beach, a short 7 minute walk away.
  • Yoga Classes: If the daily yoga session slots aren’t full, you can put your name down and enjoy a free session with our yoga instructor.
  • Workshops: The team are more than welcome to join the Surf Theory class, hosted by the surf instructors, and the Nutrition Workshop, hosted by the chefs.
  • Time Off: Benefit from one day off per week, to explore the surroundings or simply relax and recharge.
